Joseph Campbell
The shamanic crisis, when properly fostered, yields an adult not only of superior intelligence and refinement, but also of greater physical stamina and vitality of spirit than is normal to members of the group. The crisis, consequently has the value of a superior threshold initiation: superior in the first place because spontaneous, not tribally enforced, and in the second place, because of the shift of reference of the psychologically potent symbols has not been from the family to the tribe but from the family to the universe.
Joseph Campbell. Quoted by Naomi Ozaniec in her book, Daughter of the Goddess. The Sacred Priestess
Life Genius as Failure. Amera Ziganii Rao
Life is a job. Fortunately, I love work. The meaning of life. Life is a job. The key, like anything, is to do it well. And to do it alone. Life, to survive life, is achievement. To thrive in it is genius. To thrive in it, with humanity and unconditional love and self SOVEREIGNTY, to do it alone, with the capacity to be love and to love, is divine.
Tortured, freedom fighting, shaman, abused wife, Hierophant or Sacred Whore High Priestess Hierophant Avatar Valkyrie Monarch™, yes, clearly, an unavoidable rite of passage. Clearly, what is missing on this toilet of a planet. Still, an extraordinary, magical Return to The Source and one’s real job. Despite 48 – let’s bring it up to the present – years of Patriarchal attack, control, tyranny, soullessness, blood sucking and active hatred in the bitterness and shame and rage of daughter mother dependency. And despite the fact that men make women mad and have done so, for 8000 years, whether it is ‘their’ fault or not.
The innocent Sacred Whore High Priestess Hierophant Avatar Valkyrie Monarch™ beauty of ‘Muriel’s Wedding’, to go with the desperate self medication of illusion in a world gone completely insane with hatred and madness against women.
The exploration of the dark, the yang to go with the yin energies to make up the whole, the cause and effect of pushing and pulling, the dance, the protagonist and the antagonist dynamic, the executioner and the vulnerable dynamic. Whatever. Theory can expand forever.
The key to survival and thriving is to get ‘the albatross’ of one’s back (Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s The Ancient Mariner). This, it turns out, is mastering destiny. To carry out the demanded destiny, until you are asked to then make life changing decisions within the same forced duty you have been asked to perform. In other words, ‘times change’.
Which is of course, saying the same thing as following one’s bliss. My bliss used to be love. My bliss used to be men. I am heterosexual – well, in the way that any of us choose our path, within the generic bisexuality of human. My bliss was life alongside male love. My bliss is now my self sovereignty, because I know now that the two cannot go together. Male love is non compatible, with female self sovereignty. My bliss didn’t work. I had the wrong bliss. As I was meant to. I was meant to fail.
Apparently, I may not fail in the end. Apparently, there may be another stage. Apparently, there is a destiny of male love. Apparently. Not now. For now, it is the brutal reality that male love does not yet exist in a set in stone destiny of the future of male love.
One could go truly insane with that kind of dream seeking. My genius is that I am still sane.
So, onto different things and different thoughts and a different life, maybe to converge with male love, later in my life. Self sovereignty. I took my self sovereignty for granted. I believed that everyone was responsible for their own self DETERMINATION. I took self SOVEREIGNTY, completely for granted.
Like everyone, other than the most intelligent women, born and courageous enough to see the truth of misogyny from the beginning, without the necessary illusion of the anomaly of male love, and I don’t mean the female werewolves to go with the male, who strip women of self sovereignty in their first sentence of communication and greeting. I am talking about real female intelligence. The conscious knowledge that self sovereignty is the most taboo thing on this planet, as long as it’s female. The conscious knowledge that self sovereignty and male love, for a woman, is not possible. It is The Holy Grail.
And then, they choose – as soul – whether to pursue that almost ridiculous dream or not. My path was to enter chronic male love dependency and to reverse it and heal it from the inside out. And to research the whole field, for 40 straight years, from the age of 8, when the mission of exploration, my philosophical purpose, first began. My metaphysical purpose. To find the cure for fascism. To find the SELF cure for anyone involved with fascism.
I am full. I am filled up with every piece of knowledge that could exist on a visceral level, of male and female werewolf, executioner abuse and sickness and every single piece of knowledge that could exist on a visceral level of what love dependency is in the victim and vulnerable. Full up and flat as a pancake. Steamrollered out of life.
But safe. My self sovereignty is loud, insolent, humane, outrageous, sexually belligerent, and beautiful – thank you to all who have empowered me – I am alone, dejected, rejected, ejected and left on the scrap heap once again.
I have self sovereignty and I know the enemy. The whole enemy, across the world, in each one of us. I call it sickness. Others call it whatever they call it.
And the sickness is deeply and utterly political. But from a pure, spiritual beginning. So what you gonna do? It’s a lose lose situation. Life.
It’s the exploration of the dark and the light and the purpose of any vulnerable within that is to fight. Forever.
The whole thing is still completely vicious and insane. The inmates are still, truly running the asylum. It’s called The World of Men. And the women who collude happily as the same. They are all fucking insane and I finally accept. ‘Live and let live’ can be the only option. And keep slapping them round the face hard, every time they step out of line. And still being their friend. That is love. So far, for me, that is ALL that love has ever been. Deflection.
True. I clearly work with very powerful, very unpowerful, very loud, materially forceful, abusers of power. It’s been like that since birth. Very cruel. Very harsh and very cold, even in the hottest passion. Cruel. Very broken, very cruel people.
I thought I had problems when I thought I was cruel, cold, harsh and abused female power or some kind of power, that I had, as a slave. My ego is like marshmallow in comparison. Other than that, it’s skill. Skill takes education and time. Consciousness takes forever.
So convergence is not a possibility. Not yet. Integration was the aim. Affiliative power it seems, has been my greatest gift and also the real albatross in my holy, sacred duty, crucifixion and moral teacher forced purpose, life. Motherhood to Priestess-hood. That is The Lost Knowledge™. And bitterly painful. But real. I pay now, for having believed in love. I pay now, for having relied on men. I pay now, for having relied on time. Being ‘The Little Mermaid’ in earth terms is no nobility. It’s just stupidity. I am a material failure, because I believed in affiliative power and because I wanted to be loved. And, most importantly, because I followed my purpose, as was given to me. I followed my soul and this is where it brought me.
The scholar, artist and philosopher are the gifts. As Paulo Coelho says in ‘The Alchemist’, the ‘personal treasure’. Who you are. What it was all for.
But the questions are vast now. To create skill as a Sacred Whore High Priestess Hierophant Avatar Valkyrie Monarch™ or Hierophant or Prophet Shaman or Clair Cognisant, to commune, is a massive skill, to go along with the gift and spiritual DNA. Interpretation of The Universe is a skill. So, if I am a failure on that level too, so be it. I’d like to think that and I am sure there is much to be improved on. But it’s not even that. I was meant to fail, because men are not supposed to be anything to women, until they have CREATED and achieved SELF SOVEREIGNTY. ‘The Return of the King’ (Tolkein) is about the meek inheriting the earth. And it takes that much to attain. Tolkein’s work is the most accurate narrative of any individual’s path on earth. Anyone who is not born male or white or upper middle class or born to flow in their gift or in any of the ruling classes. We all have a mixture. The cocktail is fate. ‘The Return of The King’ and ‘The Color Purple’ together, is my fate and always has been.
‘The Return of The King’ is with a group of wonderful companions – celestial or terrestrial – and ‘The Color Purple’ is with other wonderful women. And a regretful ex husband of a bastard, who finally treats her with human decency. Once.
Enlightenment is finally getting it. Fortunately for me, I have always known. I believe in turning up to a dream, full time, with all my heart, mind, soul and body. But I always knew. ‘The Return of The King’ – Tolkein was one of the few writers I did not read as a child – is about those of us who are morally intact, who get defeated by the poison of the world, because we think we are like them. We are accused of ‘not wanting to be polluted’ but it’s actually because we think they are us, because we also recognise that deep bitterness of existence, that hatred within. While we are sweating forever, for control over it and to EXPLORE and MASTER it, (with rampant self blame, in ignorance, backed up by ‘the other’), no one else is. ‘The other’ is having the time of his (her) life, shitting on other human beings as a loved hobby, and blaming every other broken soul that comes his (her) way, just as she (he) blames herself (himself). We can all torture me together! That is why I had to find the truth. He (she) is more insane than I ever was. He (she) has a terrible disability. The inability to love. Fascism is the inability to love. Homicidal Selfishness™ is the inability to love. Dependency is clawing one’s way out of human sickness, into the light. Of either kind. My gift is to be one of those to show the way. It’s my business now.
And it has to be remembered here. Healing dependency is totally and utterly possible. I have seen it done. It is just a process. Your job, my joy, anyone’s job, in dependency sickness, is to keep pushing. Keep getting an education in everything you have never been taught. Keep learning and listening. And feeling the hurt. And pushing through. Past hurt. That is wisdom. That is Hierophant. The courageous soul. The mystic life to hover at the frontiers of the soul. To live in both worlds. To understand the insanity. Like anything, the more you do it, whatever size gift you have, it will kick in. That is the beginning of the threshold to enter soul. Keep at it and it will break through. You will truly be BORN. That is intuition. That is the magic. That is the drug. That is what is coveted most on this planet, I know now. I’m not surprised.
Spiritual and emotional and mental and soul power ain’t no joke. Killing me was no joke. Killing all who are like me was no joke. ‘Killing’ me every day with patriarchal hatred and deliberate non love, backed up by the propaganda machine of your masters, is no joke. We hold the power. We also ARE power. Because we love. We share our love. Women like me are more than power. I have found the courage to speak, despite a 48 year campaign against me.
Intuition. The most important, belittled and dismissed target of envy the whole world over. The real ‘birth power’ that men hate in women. Rampant jealousy. Not surprising. You need us. We’ve been gone a long time. Honour all that is Eve and it will come back. I may even carry on sharing. If I feel like it. If you prove yourself. And that takes your greatest test. Courage. Nothing comes free.
All dependency is lack of courage. Courage is the only thing that can ever free any of us. The courage to do it all.
‘The King’ is the meek who makes the kind of journey I have had to. War has made me more powerful than I could imagine was possible. Love has made me more powerful than I could imagine. MY love.
Of course, helped completely by the men who have loved me, the way they can. And of course, my fellow Hierophant and Temple people.
So, all in all, I’m exactly where I should be. Fucked over, loved by men and hated for my mind. With only one priority ahead of me. Self sovereignty and losing myself in my work because there is nothing else for me, for years. Any concept of family has gone. A female warrior has no family. From birth.
Male love spelled family to me. From the age of 8, when I mentally left the family I was born to. The rest was personal ambition. I am not allowed either. I enter the labyrinth to see the darkness to cleanse it. Personal ambition comes later. Male love comes later. Everything comes later. Any ambition comes later. I am full and flat as a pancake. I am in recovery from the labyrinth of male sickness.
Exodus will make me well. Always the only option. Negotiation and discourse from afar. If one is even interested anymore, to enter that labyrinth. The bowels of misogyny, male hatred and rage against females, the daughter mother dependency and the Homicidal Selfishness™ of the executioner ego. The mortal husk of the ego. The psychosis.
I think I am done. What more could there possibly be to know?
The Primitive Tribe. The whole world. First Existence. Sure. I was born to the same shit. I stand aloof now, and morally intact. And with ALL my power. I stand also, with ‘CLITORIS’ intact. Clearly, the feat of female genius. My right to be who I am. My right to hunt and fuck as much as I want. Hunting and fucking, both in the symbolic sense, in this modern, polite world, but the right way to say it. My men are primitive. My women are primitive. My people are primitive. The ego is primal. I have the right to hunt and fuck, like a man. I have the right to choose in every moment, like a man. My clitoris is therefore, intact. Is female adulthood as simple and vast and profoundly disturbing as that? Absolutely.
Finally, I get to make the new journey. To find a place to get my legs under the desk and get to work. To make the real journey. The rags to riches, obscurity to visibility journey, whether it’s small or big. Achievement. Performance. Visibility. The self love to go with the bitter training in standing alone.
That’s as good as it gets. The chronic physical pain is as present today as it was when it began, to the month, 15 years ago. The weakness and the thousand other symptoms as merciless. ‘No one can choose their destiny and no one can change it’ says the Dragon (the delicious voice of John Hurt) in the BBC’s heavily male biased, Merlin. The only female in that whole series that I got to watch, before switching off with fury, who is NOT evil, is Guinevere. The presence of female bad wizards and witches I am sure is still going on in the series, long after I stopped watching. It’s written by a group of men.
But I digress. Destiny, as the Dragon interprets it, is fate. No one can choose their fate. Everyone can choose their destiny, out of the rigid parameters of the given fate. That task is the toughest thing you can ever do, in any lifetime you have ever lived. In other words, all the clichés. Not getting the one thing you want, having to get out of the way, so you live the life you are supposed to and not the one you want to, whatever.
I began the journey with a broken heart, 17 years ago. My heart is now flat as a pancake. Good job. Life.
It is however, very strong, fascinated, empowered and active. The personal treasure. The whole point.
As for love. NO, men are not worth it, but I don’t regret a minute of the past six and a half years of my finally, magical, life. Romantic love is, however, a waste of time, but one of the wastes of times, that are essential for growth and healing on this stupid planet. My right to be loved is as elusive today, as it was the day I left childhood at eight and forever incurred the wrath of all the sick who reared me. And who continue to try to rear me. Such is my magic and to be honoured and loved now, instead of something to be seen as a liability.
I am a child angel. I also own myself and I have self sovereignty. I have the ‘Elizabeth l’ gene. The belligerent self love of a woman born to a male fascist. Henry Vlll. The ultimate daughter mother dependent. He would have blown up the whole country, to feed his love addiction. He’s male. History calls it everything else. It was love addiction. Mother dependency. Homicidal Selfishness™. Elizabeth the denied, rejected and hated daughter of the French whore who had her head chopped off, maligned for being a witch, incestuous, and whatever the fuck else it was. The usual, woman hating shit that survives to this so called, civilised, day. She – Elizabeth, but I am sure Ann Boleyn didn’t do too badly either - knew who she was, who she really was. Elizabeth knew, despite all the rejection, invisibility, and second class status as a woman, that she had a mind and a great soul. I’ve known that about myself my whole life.
It turns out that everyone else knew too. That’s good. No more explanation is needed. Self sovereignty the only priority now and forever. I don’t want to be a material failure, relying on the kindness of men or anyone anymore.
Love – if it truly is my destiny – can come later. I’m done.
I have my personal treasure. Power and the will to live.
I survived. Now, I intend to thrive.

Nobody sees anybody truly but all through the flaws of their own egos. That is the way we all see ...each other in life. Vanity, fear, desire, competition-- all such distortions within our own egos-- condition our vision of those in relation to us. Add to those distortions to our own egos the corresponding distortions in the egos of others, and you see how cloudy the glass must become through which we look at each other. Update. Amera Ziganii Rao
Update though. Mother dependency as daughter mother dependency and the projection of that into fascism and misogyny – because you love me so much - and father dependency – because I love you so much - which means the old marriage and invincible man, providing as ‘positive discrimination’ for his lady, is just not allowed anymore, because of my splinter between caring and needing to be selfish. You are allowed to be vulnerable too and we are all being straightened out into our second areas of excellence. Yours is spiritual power. Mine is material. As yours continues in material and mine continues in spiritual. Need is not love. Love is love, and ego or soul, we are both on the parallel path. The rest is believing again and grieving the beautiful others. The very beautiful others. I only have one king. On a personal level. But twin souls clearly come in two by twos. We are The Warrior Class. The humanity of love friendship brings one back. The rescue of what turns out to be friendship of the most sacred kind, to go with the partnership of the most sacred kind. You. My kings.
I don’t write the rules. I only deliver. I thought I had lost you. Stepping away into my other, only to be violated again, for the very same reasons, and yet wanted and loved for the very same reasons, healed me on a thousand levels. The objectivity of healing. The ultimate demand for the Sacred Whore High Priestess Hierophant Avatar Valkyrie Monarch™. I knew that four years ago. To heal the person you are most in love with. The final test in objectivity and universal love. Through such violation.
We all need fortification. Hope. And we all needed healing. And once again, we are all ejected from the womb. The pain of non attachment to these supreme levels. I am humbled again into the person, to go alongside the High Priestess. A Nymph woman’s journey is back to the Sacred Whore, as yours is to make your way to her. Your fatherhood – what it has become - is not what I wanted, but you have carried me for the most seminal years of my growth. In our unique and spiritually demanding way, you are, always will be and always have been my only father. To begin to know the purity of the Sacred Pimp™ and the Sacred Whore High Priestess Hierophant Avatar Valkyrie Monarch™, through the fetish into the sacred of the fetish into the sacredness of it all, is now our path.
The wrench to drag me out of your arms was intense, as it was for your Lolita arms, and is still. We’ve spent a year on it. The mourning is mutual, through the ‘shooting me in the face for wanting an education’ warfare you have meted out on me. The mourning is mutual. I now know the love and the need is mutual. You have proved your love. I’m still here. You made me believe in you again. And I finally feel like a man.
Our first dream was to do it all, this life. I can see it now. And we’re going to get it. We’ve put the time in. You as wizard, me as achiever. Me as wizard. You as achiever. Anima and animus in one. We are passion. We are being beaten alongside each other, into reason. Compassion is the reason of love. The healing of mother dependency in you and the (superego) practise of ejecting father dependency in me.
And compassion takes love. To know the depth of why we are destined to meet such profound others, is a whole other subject and, once again, completely outside the remit of religious or normal society. But it’s all love. Pure love.
And once again, through the doorways of hell, it has brought me back to you. We’ve done it. The growing up threshold. Entering supersoul. Two, as two, standing next to each other, as one. And still, everything we want. And everything we deserve. And completely, utterly, wonderfully, dark and light, sparring, kinky as hell, adult love. Being able to separate and unite. We designed it together.
The holy love. The love that has waited eons. The lifetimes of grief. The return.
The threshold is done.

“The readiness to initiate the journey cannot be forced nor can people be faulted if it has not occurred in them as yet. The level of consciousness has to have advanced to the stage where such an intention would be meaningful and attractive.”

“The seeking of Enlightenment is a very major commitment, and is, in fact, the most difficult of human pursuits. It can be alternately arduous or exhilarating, exciting or tedious, demanding or inspiring. There are great breakthroughs as well as exasperating, seemingly impossible obstacles. It is to be expected that this pattern is par for the course.”
— Dr. David Hawkins, I: Reality and Subjectivity, pg. 183
“The inspiration to evolve spiritually is already a manifestation of the presence of God within, and it’s certainly indicative of good karma. Just to want to know truth, to evolve, to improve oneself, to become a better person, to fulfill one’s potential – those are all inspirations. And the person doesn’t make them up; they just come to them. It’s like an innate desire to fulfill your potential. That potential as one evolves becomes more and more identified in spirituality – the capacity to love, to forgive, to appreciate, to see the beauty in all that exists, to live in peace and harmony instead of discord and strife […] The only requirement is to do whatever you do to the best of your capacity and leave the rest up to God (The Mother, The Universe, The Womb of Creation.”
— Dr. David Hawkins, Beyond the Ordinary web radio broadcast
“Desire is fueled by the illusion of lack and that the source of happiness is outside oneself and therefore has to be pursued or acquired. The importance of the object of desire is thereby inflated and overvalued by its symbolism and mystique. The pleasure of the sense of Self is blocked by desire. When that desire is fulfilled, the ego ascribes the resultant sense of joy to the acquisition of an external. However, this is a clever illusion because the actual source of the pleasure is that the block to experiencing the joy of the Self has been temporarily removed. The source of the experienced happiness is the radiance of the Self that shines forth when it is not shut off by an ego distress.”

"In the spiritual world, the basic dictum is "there are no justified resentments". This statement is abhorred by the ego. "Oh yeah," it says, "but what about so and so?". It then goes through its laundry list and litany of horrors, violations or 'rights', injustices, presumptive arguements of 'ethics', 'morality', etc. Every councelor, sponsor, or professional is familiar with such recitations. To recover, the question one has to face is whether one wishes to cling to it (and thereby get the 'juice') or give it up. This is the point of decision, without which healing cannot occur"
— Dr. David Hawkins,(TLC, pg. 54)
“Ego is the persistence of animal instinct from an earlier part of the brain. The frontal cortex emerged later and allows thinking. However, the thinking is then used for animal goals [...] We now have rivalry and the quest for domination via the intellect, rather than teeth, claws, etc.”

“Never underestimate the ego’s wily strategies. The more realistic position is to respect its capacities and compassionately heal it. Once the ego is docile it is much more amenable to evaporating into the sunshine.”

“[...] the ego has to be first accepted as though it is a reality in order to be dealt with before it can be transcended. At the higher levels, the ego is seen to be an illusion, without any innate reality. [...] A naive student might hear, for example, that the ego is an illusion and then presume that ‘I don’t believe in the ego. It’s just an illusion.’ At this point, it is actually the student’s ego that is making such a statement.”
— Dr. David Hawkins, I: Reality and Subjectivity, pg. 329
Man (human) is addicted to the payoffs of being right, blaming others, twisting the knife. [...]Most would rather enjoy hating someone than to give it all up.
— Dr. David Hawkins, Sedona Seminar, October 2003
“The ego gets a grim pleasure and satisfaction from suffering and all the non-integrous levels of pride, anger, desire, guilt, shame, and grief. The secret pleasure of suffering is addictive.[...] To stop the mechanism, the pleasure of the payoff has to be identified and willingly surrendered to God. Out of shame, the ego blocks out conscious awareness of its machinations, especially the secretiveness of the game ‘victim’.”
— Dr. David Hawkins, I: Reality and Subjectivity, pg. 244
“Everyone gets a secret pleasure from resentments, from being the martyr or the victim, and from feeling misunderstood, unappreciated, etc.[...]To undo the ego, one must be willing to abandon this payoff game, with its grandstanding of emotions and repetitive rehashing of data and stories to justify its positions.[...] When the ‘inner juice’ is abandoned, it is replaced by inner peace.”
— Dr. David Hawkins, I: Reality and Subjectivity, pg. 310-311
“A useful approach is to let the love for God replace the willfulness that is driving the seeking. One can release all desire to seek and realize that the thought that there is anything else but God is a baseless vanity. […] Out of an unrestricted love for God arises the willingness to surrender all motives except to serve God completely. To be the servant of God becomes one’s goal rather than enlightenment. To be a perfect channel for God’s love is to surrender completely and to eliminate the goal seeking of spiritual ego. Joy itself becomes the initiator of further spiritual work.”

Retro Pt lV. A Self Portrait
Leo Strauss
Leo Strauss (September 20, 1899 – October 18, 1973) was a German–American political philosopher and classicist who specialized in classical political philosophy. He was born in Germany to Jewish parents and later emigrated to the United States. He spent most of his career as a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, where he taught several generations of students and published fifteen books.
Originally trained in the neo-Kantian tradition with Ernst Cassirer and immersed in the work of the phenomenologists Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger, Strauss later focused his research on the Greek texts of Plato and Aristotle, retracing their interpretation through medieval Islamic and Jewish philosophy and encouraging the application of those ideas to contemporary political theory.
Leo Strauss was born in the small town of Kirchhain in Hessen-Nassau, a province of the Kingdom of Prussia (part of the German Empire), on September 20, 1899, to Hugo Strauss and Jennie Strauss, née David. According to Allan Bloom's 1974 obituary in Political Theory, Strauss "was raised as an Orthodox Jew," but the family does not appear to have completely embraced Orthodox practice. Strauss himself noted that he came from a "conservative, even orthodox Jewish home," but one which knew little about Judaism except strict adherence to ceremonial laws. His father and uncle operated a farm supply and livestock business that they inherited from their father, Meyer (1835–1919), a leading member of the local Jewish community.
For Strauss, politics and philosophy were necessarily intertwined. He regarded the trial and death of Socrates as the moment when political philosophy came into existence. Strauss considered one of the most important moments in the history of philosophy Socrates' argument that philosophers could not study nature without considering their own human nature, which, in the words of Aristotle, is that of "a political animal."
Strauss distinguished "scholars" from "great thinkers", identifying himself as a scholar. He wrote that most self-described philosophers are in actuality scholars, cautious and methodical. Great thinkers, in contrast, boldly and creatively address big problems. Scholars deal with these problems only indirectly by reasoning about the great thinkers' differences.
In Natural Right and History Strauss begins with a critique of Max Weber's epistemology, briefly engages the relativism of Martin Heidegger (who goes unnamed), and continues with a discussion of the evolution of natural rights via an analysis of the thought of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. He concludes by critiquing Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Edmund Burke. At the heart of the book are excerpts from Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero. Much of his philosophy is a reaction to the works of Heidegger. Indeed, Strauss wrote that Heidegger's thinking must be understood and confronted before any complete formulation of modern political theory is possible.
Strauss wrote that Friedrich Nietzsche was the first philosopher to properly understand relativism, an idea grounded in a general acceptance of Hegelian historicism.
Heidegger, in Strauss' view, sanitized and politicized Nietzsche, whereas Nietzsche believed "our own principles, including the belief in progress, will become as relative as all earlier principles had shown themselves to be" and "the only way out seems to be...that one voluntarily choose life-giving delusion instead of deadly truth, that one fabricate a myth". Heidegger believed that the tragic nihilism of Nietzsche was a "myth" guided by a defective Western conception of Being that Heidegger traced to Plato. In his published correspondence with Alexandre Kojève, Strauss wrote that Hegel was correct when he postulated that an end of history implies an end to philosophy as understood by classical political philosophy.
In 1952 Strauss published Persecution and the Art of Writing, arguing that serious writers write esoterically, that is, with multiple or layered meanings, often disguised within irony or paradox, obscure references, even deliberate self-contradiction. Esoteric writing serves several purposes: protecting the philosopher from the retribution of the regime, and protecting the regime from the corrosion of philosophy; it attracts the right kind of reader and repels the wrong kind; and ferreting out the interior message is in itself an exercise of philosophic reasoning.
Taking his bearings from his study of Maimonides and Al Farabi, and pointing further back to Plato's discussion of writing as contained in the Phaedrus, Strauss proposed that the classical and medieval art of exoteric writing is the proper medium for philosophic learning: rather than displaying philosophers' thoughts superficially, classical and medieval philosophical texts guide their readers in thinking and learning independently of imparted knowledge. Thus, Strauss agrees with the Socrates of the Phaedrus, where the Greek indicates that, insofar as writing does not respond when questioned, good writing provokes questions in the reader—questions that orient the reader towards an understanding of problems the author thought about with utmost seriousness. Both for Strauss and for Plato, genuinely philosophical writing does not impart special knowledge to its reader, but helps its reader deepen his own understanding of the problems underlying all special knowledge: those readers who seek special knowledge in Platonic dialogues hanker to apply fragments of philosophical discourse to political life—a superficial move—thereby betraying the cause of genuinely philosophical writers. The case of the trial of Socrates is paradigmatic.
Strauss's general "hermeneutical" argument—rearticulated throughout his subsequent writings (most notably in The City and Man [1978])—is that, prior to the 19th century, Western scholars commonly understood that philosophical writing is not at home in any polity, no matter how liberal. Insofar as it questions conventional wisdom at its roots, philosophy must guard itself especially against those readers who believe themselves authoritative, wise, and liberal defenders of the status quo. In questioning established opinions, or in investigating the principles of morality, philosophers of old found it necessary to convey their messages in an oblique manner. Their "art of writing" was the art of exoteric communication. This was especially apparent in medieval times, when heterodox political thinkers wrote under the threat of the Inquisition or comparably obtuse tribunals.
Strauss's argument is not that the medieval writers he studies reserved one exoteric meaning for the many (hoi polloi) and an esoteric, hidden one for the few (hoi aristoi), but that, through rhetorical stratagems including self-contradiction and hyperboles, these writers succeeded in conveying their proper meaning at the tacit heart of their writings—a heart or message irreducible to "the letter" or historical dimension of texts.
Explicitly following G.E. Lessing's lead, Strauss indicates that medieval political philosophers, no less than their ancient counterparts, carefully adapted their wording to the dominant moral views of their time, lest their writings be condemned as heretical or unjust, not by "the many" (who did not read), but by those "few" whom the many regarded as the most righteous guardians of morality. It was precisely these righteous personalities who would be most inclined to persecute/ostracize anyone who was in the business of exposing the noble or great lie upon which the authority of the few over the many stands or falls.
According to his critics, especially Shadia Drury, Strauss wrongly assumes a distinction between an "exoteric" or salutory and an "esoteric" or "true" aspect of the philosophy of pre-modern political philosophers. Furthermore, Strauss is often accused of having himself written esoterically. The accusation would seem to rest upon the belief that in modern liberal societies and especially in the USA philosophers are free to voice their philosophical views in public without being accused of impropriety.
Leo Strauss's appreciation of moderation or restraint in writing is manifest in his favoring Jane Austen over otherwise more thoughtful modern novelists.
According to Strauss, modern social science is flawed because it assumes the fact-value distinction, a concept which Strauss finds dubious, tracing its roots in Enlightenment philosophy to Max Weber, a thinker whom Strauss described as a "serious and noble mind.” Weber wanted to separate values from science but, according to Strauss, was really a derivative thinker, deeply influenced by Nietzsche’s relativism. Strauss treated politics as something that could not be studied from afar. A political scientist examining politics with a value-free scientific eye, for Strauss, was self-deluded. Positivism, the heir to both Auguste Comte and Max Weber in the quest to make purportedly value-free judgments, failed to justify its own existence, which would require a value judgment.
While modern liberalism had stressed the pursuit of individual liberty as its highest goal, Strauss felt that there should be a greater interest in the problem of human excellence and political virtue. Through his writings, Strauss constantly raised the question of how, and to what extent, freedom and excellence can coexist. Strauss refused to make do with any simplistic or one-sided resolutions of the Socratic question: What is the good for the city and man?
Two significant political-philosophical dialogues Strauss had with living thinkers were those he held with Carl Schmitt and Alexandre Kojève. Schmitt, who would later become, for a short time, the chief jurist of Nazi Germany, was one of the first important German academics to review Strauss's early work positively. Schmitt's positive reference for, and approval of, Strauss's work on Hobbes was instrumental in winning Strauss the scholarship funding that allowed him to leave Germany.
Strauss's critique and clarifications of The Concept of the Political led Schmitt to make significant emendations in its second edition. Writing to Schmitt in 1932, Strauss summarised Schmitt's political theology that "because man is by nature evil, he therefore needs dominion. But dominion can be established, that is, men can be unified only in a unity against - against other men. Every association of men is necessarily a separation from other men... the political thus understood is not the constitutive principle of the state, of order, but a condition of the state."
Strauss, however, directly opposed Schmitt's position. For Strauss, Schmitt and his return to Thomas Hobbes helpfully clarified the nature of our political existence and our modern self-understanding. Schmitt's position was therefore symptomatic of the modern liberal self-understanding. Strauss believed that such an analysis, as in Hobbes's time, served as a useful "preparatory action", revealing our contemporary orientation towards the eternal problems of politics (social existence). However, Strauss believed that Schmitt's reification of our modern self-understanding of the problem of politics into a political theology was not an adequate solution. Strauss instead advocated a return to a broader classical understanding of human nature and a tentative return to political philosophy, in the tradition of the ancient philosophers.
With Kojève, Strauss had a close and lifelong philosophical friendship. They had first met as students in Berlin. The two thinkers shared a boundless philosophical respect for each other. Kojève would later write that, without befriending Strauss, "I never would have known...what philosophy is". The political-philosophical dispute between Kojève and Strauss centred on the role that philosophy should and can be allowed to play in politics.
Kojève, who as a senior civil servant in the French government was instrumental in the creation of the European Economic Community, argued that philosophers should have an active role in shaping political events. Strauss, on the contrary, believed that philosophers should play a role in politics only to the extent that they can ensure that philosophy, which he saw as mankind's highest activity, can be free from political intervention.
Strauss taught that liberalism in its modern form contained within it an intrinsic tendency towards extreme relativism, which in turn led to two types of nihilism:
The first was a “brutal” nihilism, expressed in Nazi and Marxist regimes. In On Tyranny, he wrote that these ideologies, both descendants of Enlightenment thought, tried to destroy all traditions, history, ethics, and moral standards and replace them by force under which nature and mankind are subjugated and conquered. The second type—the "gentle" nihilism expressed in Western liberal democracies—was a kind of value-free aimlessness and a hedonistic "permissive egalitarianism", which he saw as permeating the fabric of contemporary American society.
In the belief that 20th century relativism, scientism, historicism, and nihilism were all implicated in the deterioration of modern society and philosophy, Strauss sought to uncover the philosophical pathways that had led to this situation. The resultant study led him to advocate a tentative return to classical political philosophy as a starting point for judging political action.
According to Strauss, The Republic by Plato is not "a blueprint for regime reform" (a play on words from Karl Popper's Open Society and Its Enemies, which attacks The Republic for being just that). Strauss quotes Cicero: "The Republic does not bring to light the best possible regime but rather the nature of political things—the nature of the city."
Strauss argued that the city-in-speech was unnatural, precisely because "it is rendered possible by the abstraction from eros". Eros means bodily needs. Though skeptical of "progress", Strauss was equally skeptical about political agendas of "return"—that is, going backward instead of forward.
In fact, he was consistently suspicious of anything claiming to be a solution to an old political or philosophical problem. He spoke of the danger in trying finally to resolve the debate between rationalism and traditionalism in politics. In particular, along with many in the pre-World War II German Right, he feared people trying to force a world state to come into being in the future, thinking that it would inevitably become a tyranny. Hence he kept his distance from the totalitarianisms of his century, the right-wing fascists and the left-wing communists.
Strauss actively rejected Karl Popper's views as illogical. He agreed with a letter of response to his request of Eric Voegelin to look into the issue. In the response, Voegelin wrote that studying Popper's views was a waste of precious time, and "an annoyance".
Specifically about "Open Society and Its Enemies and Popper's understanding of Plato's The Republic, after giving some examples, Voegelin wrote:
Popper is philosophically so uncultured, so fully a primitive ideological brawler, that he is not able even approximately to reproduce correctly the contents of one page of Plato. Reading is of no use to him; he is too lacking in knowledge to understand what the author says.
Strauss proceeded to show this letter to Kurt Riezler who used his influence in order to oppose Popper's appointment at the University of Chicago.
Strauss constantly stressed the importance of two dichotomies in political philosophy: Athens and Jerusalem (Reason and Revelation) and Ancient versus Modern. The "Ancients" were the Socratic philosophers and their intellectual heirs; the "Moderns" start with Niccolò Machiavelli. The contrast between Ancients and Moderns was understood to be related to the unresolvable tension between Reason and Revelation. The Socratics, reacting to the first Greek philosophers, brought philosophy back to earth, and hence back to the marketplace, making it more political.
The Moderns reacted to the dominance of revelation in medieval society by promoting the possibilities of Reason. They objected to Aquinas's merger of natural right and natural theology, for it made natural right vulnerable to sideshow theological disputes.
Thomas Hobbes, under the influence of Francis Bacon, re-oriented political thought to what was most solid but also most low in man—his physical hopes and fears—setting a precedent for John Locke and the later economic approach to political thought, as in David Hume and Adam Smith.
As a youth, Strauss was a political Zionist, belonging to the German Zionist youth group, along with friends Gershom Scholem and Walter Benjamin, who were both strong admirers of Strauss, and would continue to be so throughout their lives. When he was 17, as he said, he was "converted" to political Zionism as a follower of Vladimir Jabotinsky. He served several years in the German Zionist youth movement, writing several essays pertaining to its controversies, but left these activities behind by his early twenties.
While Strauss maintained a sympathetic interest in Zionism, he later came to refer to Zionism as "problematic" and became disillusioned with some of its aims.
He taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, for 1954–55 academic year. In his letter to a National Review editor, Strauss asks why Israel had been called a racist state by one of that journal's writers. He argues that the author did not provide enough proof for his argument. He ends up his essay with the following statement:
Political Zionism is problematic for obvious reasons. But I can never forget what it achieved as a moral force in an era of complete dissolution. It helped to stem the tide of "progressive" leveling of venerable, ancestral differences; it fulfilled a conservative function.
Although Strauss espoused the utility of religious belief, there is some question about his views on its truth. In some quarters the opinion has been that, whatever his views on the utility of religion, he was personally an atheist. Strauss, however, was openly disdainful of atheism, as he made apparent in his writings on Max Weber. He especially disapproved of contemporary dogmatic disbelief, which he considered intemperate and irrational and felt that one should either be "the philosopher open to the challenge of theology or the theologian open to the challenge of philosophy."
One interpretation is that Strauss, in the interplay of Jerusalem and Athens, or revelation and reason, sought, as did Thomas Aquinas, to hold revelation to the rigours of reason, but where Aquinas saw an amicable interplay, Strauss saw two impregnable fortresses.
Werner Dannhauser, in analyzing Strauss' letters, writes, "It will not do to simply think of Strauss as a godless, a secular, a lukewarm Jew." As one commenter, Edward Feser, put it:
Strauss was not himself an orthodox believer, neither was he a convinced atheist. Since whether or not to accept a purported divine revelation is itself one of the “permanent” questions, orthodoxy must always remain an option equally as defensible as unbelief.
Feser's statement invites the suspicion that Strauss may have been an unconvinced atheist, or that he welcomed religion as merely (practically) useful, rather than as true. The supposition that Strauss was an unconvinced atheist is not necessarily incompatible with Dannhauser's tentative claim that Strauss was an atheist behind closed doors. Hilail Gildin responded to Dannhauser's reading in "Déjà Jew All Over Again:
Dannhauser on Leo Strauss and Atheism," an article published in Interpretation: A Journal of Political Philosophy. Gildin exposed inconsistencies between Strauss's writings and Dannhauser's claims; he also questioned the inherent consistency of Dannhauser's admittedly tentative evaluation of Strauss's understanding of divinity and religion.
At the end of his The City and Man, Strauss invites his reader to "be open to the full impact of the all-important question which is coeval with philosophy although the philosophers do not frequently pronounce it—the question quid sit deus ["What is God?"]".
As a philosopher, Strauss would be interested in knowing the nature of divinity, instead of trying to dispute the very being of divinity.
But Strauss did not remain "neutral" to the question about the "quid" of divinity. Already in his Natural Right and History, he defended a Socratic (Platonic, Ciceronian, Aristotelian) reading of divinity, distinguishing it from a materialistic, conventionalist, Epicurean reading.
Here, the question of "religion" (what is religion?) is inseparable from the question of the nature of civil society, and thus of civil right, or right having authoritative representation, or right capable of defending itself (Latin: Jus). Atheism, whether convinced (overt) or unconvinced (tacit), is integral to the conventionalist reading of civil authority, and thereby of religion in its originally civil valence, a reading against which Strauss argues throughout his volume.
Thus Strauss's own arguments contradict the thesis imputed to him posthumously by scholars such as S. Drury who profess that Strauss approached religion as an instrument devoid of inherent purpose or meaning.

The candles made huge shadows. His bed was open, merely a blanket thrown back. His clothes were strewn around. There were two guitars. He took one up and began to play, sitting among his clothes. Hilda had the feeling that she was dreaming, that she must keep her eyes on his bare arms, on his throat showing through the open shirt, so that he would fell what she felt, the same magnetism.
At the same moment that she felt she was falling into darkness, into his golden-brown flesh, he fell towards her, covered her with kisses, very hot , quick kisses, into which his breath passed. He kissed her behind her ears, on her eyelids, her throat, her shoulders. She was blinded, deafened, made senseless. Every kiss increased the heat of his lips. But he made no gesture to raise her dress or undress her.
They lay there for a long time. The candle was finished. It sputtered and went out. In the darkness she felt his burning dryness, like desert sand, enveloping her.....

This is what is signified by the words Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God." People imagine that it is a presumptuous claim, whereas it is really a presumptuous claim to say Ana 'l-'abd, "I am the slave ofGod"; and Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God" is an expression of great humility. The man (woman) who says Ana 'l-'abd, "I am the servant of God" affirms two existences, his (her) own and God's, but he (she) that says Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God" has made himself (herself) non-existent and has given himself (herself) up and says "I am God", that is, "I am naught, He (She) is all; there is no being but God's." This is the extreme of humility and self-abasement.
Rumi
Everyone sees the unseen in proportion to the clarity of his (her) heart, and that depends upon how much he (she) has polished it.
Whoever has polished it more sees more — more unseen forms become manifest to him (her).

The Company.
Writer, Speaker and Enlightener, Amera Ziganii Rao, is now putting together a comprehensive and unique programme of Alchemy & Liberation & Humanity™. A programme of learning that is specifically about one particular kind of woman. And one particular kind of man. The Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and the Sacred Whore High Priest™, and the true society that they come from and the one they, in particular, she can and has to return to and that anyone can join her and him in. This is about Paradise on Earth.
This is about The Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and the Sacred Whore High Priest™, and the Alchemy and Liberation and Humanity that is for all as a result of their healing and in particular, hers. This is about the kind of woman who is at the bottom of the pile in a Patriarchal Toilet Tribe from Hell Society™, the norm, the conventional world and the world of the Tribe. This is about the kind of man who is next in line from the bottom. The sensitive man and the female chattel. The High Priestess and High Priest of a profane society, that has long forgotten who they are.
This is about being at the bottom of the pile, for the forgotten and strangled shamans, and for her, the story of escape. Abused by her family, her friends, her men, her whole society, by the very nature of who she is and who they are and what has happened on this Earth. It is about women of love, of Spirit and of sex. It is about men of love, of Spirit and of sex. It is about the Cinderellas of this world. It is about the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™. Who she is and how, loving her is the secret to Paradise on Earth and how we have been living a lie for 8000+ years. A lie of male (non High Priest) religion with a male ‘God’ and with Patriarchs and Patriarchal types and Matriarchs and Matriarchal types ruling over us and making our lives hell, all in the name of family, the tribe and the way things are and should remain. Hate, fascism and profanity. A sick society that vilifies, more than anyone else, the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™, just because it was told to. A sick society that calls her Eve. A sick society that has forgotten who we all are, let alone the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and the Sacred Whore High Priest™. This is about us remembering and knowing who WE are.
This is a programme of healing for the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™, and the Sacred Whore High Priest™, to take them and particularly, her, from monstrous levels of low self esteem and lack of self knowledge, back to herself and it is a programme for all those who truly want to love her, and indeed, him. This is a programme for the greatest carers on Earth, who are vilified, destroyed, ridiculed, ignored, abused, used, misused and hated for being everything that those who would steal from us are not. This is a programme to turn Cinderellas into The Sacred Whore High Priestesses and for anyone who wants to love her or live by the values of the The Sacred Whore High Priestess Society™. And this is a programme to turn sensitive men into Sacred Whore High Priests™ and for anyone who wants to love him and live by the values of the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and High Priest Society. Love, humanity, Spirit and sex. This is a programme to reverse 8000+ years of witch burning, women hating and healer ridicule. This is about the The Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and all those who would love her and live by her values.
This is about the chance for Paradise on Earth. This is a programme for the most beautiful, kind hearted, wounded women and men on this planet. A programme of how to implement a system of how to beat life, how to survive life and how to resurrect from the grief that is a true life. Alchemy and Liberation and Humanity of the lower mind into the higher mind, the soul and the inner heart and therefore one's true, confident, ‘happy’, successful, creative, sexual, sensual, individual, intelligent, emotionally healed, capable of loving and being loved self. How to turn grief into creation and survive and thrive, despite all the shit, all the pain and all the hurt. How to live in a world of madness, hollowness and cruelty and how to be a winner. How to stand up for oneself and to take back the power that has been stolen from anyone with heart, Spirit and sex. The art and science of Alchemy.
This is a programme, based on my scholarly and non scholarly work over 15 years (so far), if not for my whole life, and my extensive and intense, visceral experiences of self transformation from resignation, cynicism and despair to a state of relative bliss, and above all, the right to be. The programme and the courses and my speaking and indeed my forthcoming book, will cover the method of change. The psychological, sociological, spiritual, cultural, political, emotional and physical and even anthropological methods of change. Why we are here. Who the Sacred Whore High Priestess™ is and why she is here. And who the Sacred Whore High Priest™ is. Why we are here. Who we are and what we are and why we are. The beauty and glory of the truth. The meaning of life, no less. This will be on offer in the future.
My first book of consciousness, my first book of the spiritual politics of humanity, of authentic power and of self love and strength. A comprehensive series of online courses, live events and audio and visual material. Books, live events, CDs and DVDs. And one on one personal empowerment consultations. The Amera Ziganii Rao Method of Change™. The right to be and the way to have the right to be. And indeed, how to maintain the will to live without love. How to BE unconditional, self sufficient, self caring, self love. The right to be and the will to be and the unparalleled success that comes with that. The Lost Knowledge™. HOW to live. And how to heal others, the profane and the sick and the soulless. The others. My Business and that of any Sacred Whore High Priestess™ and Sacred Whore High Priest™, is Human Rights, The Right to a Sexual Society, Self Actualisation and Freedom.
My Business is To Overthrow Fascism, in the Home and in the Country. My business is also mastering destiny. Overthrowing the ultimate 'fascism'. Our journey on Earth and The Return To The Source. Our healing, our ascension and our redemption. Fate. The daily crucifixions of a true life, the challenges and the fury of being healers and people of love on a planet like Earth.
Submitting to the journey to liberate and evolve oneself, through following one's heart, however much heartbreak and devastation it leads to on the long long long journey to freedom and then the longer journey to happiness. 'Long Road to Freedom', as Nelson Mandela says. My business is always taking risks, never giving up and making the endless sacrifices it takes to become whole. Enlightenment, Nirvana and then Parinirvana and beyond. My business is pain. My business is bliss.
My business is seeing the truly glory of Spirit on Earth. The Sacred Whore High Priestess Society™ and all that it is. Spirit, humanity, sex and love again at last. And the end of our legacy as either servants or witches or unpaid carers or indeed, ignored mistresses, other women, other men even, and the weirdos that are at the bottom of society. This is our world and it is time to take it back and I can show you how. And that makes my life, truly, worth living.
I want you to feel the way I do. Alive, with the right to be and the belligerence to exist in this profane and male ‘God’ led world of male supremacy, female supremacy, domestic, casual fascism, tribe rules from hell, with beautiful and kind, love intelligence laden, female and male Cinderella warriors at the bottom, caring for everyone else and getting nothing but hatred, ridicule and isolation for it. The meek are already inheriting the Earth and I can show you how.

I am THE High Priestess Monarch of the ancient past and I forgive you for becoming enslaved and taken over by the machines of the alien reptile force that invaded and took over Earth 8000 years ago. They taught you to hate me and my kind and you believed them. They told you I and my kind were dictators and that you were slaves, when all we had done was love you, honour you as companions and above all, we had let you just live.
We were the holy communers, the ones who gave birth to human beings, the leaders of society, the creators of society, the vehicles of Divinity on Earth and the channels of wisdom. The ones who looked after everything and the ones who built everything and ran everything, because we could. And because we loved it. We are and were the force of creation. And you loved us and you lived.
But they told you that you ‘deserved’ power too and that we were the ones standing in your way. And you believed them. The oldest ‘divide and rule’ strategy of hate in history and it worked. They used it and you bought it, hook, line and sinker. You had to give up sex, love, magic and your own spiritual gifts and you burnt, destroyed and violated me for 8000 years.
The world calls that male supremacy. And indeed, family supremacy, Matriarchal supremacy and supremacy of the material world and all who believe in it. Men and women like you. When all that you are are slaves to a reptile force to generate hate energy for them to live and thrive and vampire the human race. The puppets of a hate force, that chose to destroy women and men like me, for hate to grow, so they could live. You bought it and it worked. The greatest fraud in the history of the world.
I am THE High Priestess Monarch of the ancient past and I forgive you for becoming enslaved and taken over by the machines of the alien reptile force that invaded and took over Earth 8000 years ago. They taught you to hate me and my kind and you believed them. They taught you that my mind was evil. My mind, my sex, my body and my ways of life.
The humanity, the glory of sexuality and the glory of creation and creativity and the glory of Divinity in each and every one of us. Our souls. They taught you that human beings are separate from Divinity, that sex was wrong and that women who have minds of their own are uppity slaves. They vilified us but much much worse than that, they destroyed your relationship with all that is unseen, all that we honour and love.
They taught you to hate what is really God. By teaching you to hate us, you hated all that is good in yourselves. They taught you to hate the light. They taught you to kill us. The daughters of The Universe. The High Priestesses of God. The Spiritual Mothers. The Sacred Whore High Priestess Avatars of The Universe™. The Sacred Army of Love on Earth.
The Shamans, the Mystics and the Communers. The Hierophants.
They called me Eve and blamed me for the downfall of the human race and created the awesome profanity that is religion. Of men, by men and from men. Of reptiles, by reptiles and from reptiles. Christianity, Islam and Judaism and every other philosophy around the world was poisoned. There are no female spiritual leaders left. It is all profanity. They chose you to represent them because they wanted to divide us and they did. They told you to hate me. And you believed them. Now I am back and I forgive you.
I forgive you because I can. Because I came here to save your soul. And because I finally know who I am. I am THE High Priestess Monarch of the ancient past. I came here to return your soul to The Source. God, The Mother, The Universe. To return you to what is really God. Because I love you. And because She loves you and your kind, whatever you have done.
Whatever you have done to me and whatever you have done to Her. And most of all, whatever you have done to yourself. We forgive you. This is your redemption. Your freedom and your ascension. We are here to save your soul.

You bought the Sacred Whore like a piece of meat and you called that a wife. Your trophy wives. Your dancing girls. Your chattel and serving girls. Your piece of beauty. You bought us like you would cattle. Then you called it wives. Now you call it prostitution. The High Priestesses of the real God. You bought us to buy God, The Mother, The Universe and you caged us, separated us from our Divine gifts and skills in the Temple and drove us mad and then lost interest in us, because we had no gifts left, no excitement, no hunter in ourselves and no hope or joy left. Then you just called us mad and discarded us. You called us evil and you call love obedience, even though it had already killed us. You moved into our Temples and you played with the divination tools and thought you communed. The destruction of Atlantis was your gift.
You stole us from God, The Mother, The Universe and you tried to usurp us. You vilified us, enslaved us and you still envy us today. You call it intuition. You might want to think about this when you hate us out of your jealousy. The mystic gene means physical tortuous pain and taking on the empathy of the human race. All their pains, evils and dark thoughts. We see and feel everything. We make crucial sacrifices to be near Spirit and the unseen and we go without for years. To be shaman is not glamour. I make it glamour. To be shaman is a specific Samurai existence, ascetic and harsh. We commune to be guides. And you take that and you shame yourselves because you just want the meat. You didn’t just want the meat. You wanted our beauty of spirit, our personalities and our love and kindness. And you destroyed them, because you caged us and called us wife.

The High Priestess Sacred Whores, the High Priests and the true protectors. Those who do not have the gift like either the High Priests or especially like the highest of all, the High Priestess Sacred Whores but who honour, protect and facilitate them to the world. Who honour the Shaman Sacred Whores of this world most of all, and who know who they are and who they are not. Who know the difference, who do not envy and who protect and love the representatives of Spirit, GOD, THE MOTHER, THE UNIVERSE, on Earth. Who honour their wisdom and who honour the latent Shaman in themselves too and who honour the communing ability of the High Priestess Sacred Whores. The non violators. Our only friends. The New Society exists. It is called Enlightenment. It is called Love. It is The Holy Grail.

The master race. It's all a lie. You are brought up to be a despot king and it is only your sister who ever tells you that you have become a pratt. The master race is all a lie. There are no kings in an equal world. Your father was misinformed. What he brought you up to be was a killer. Pure and simple. A misogynist. A modern misogynist. A polite killer.

I enter the magical hours of pure feeling, pure thought, pure imagination and I think and I write and I 'mysticise' the Universe. I escape at will, the truth of my humanless, Samurai solitude, and I pursue the truth of love in myself and in everyone else. I am philosopher. I am shaman. I am alone. I frontier the Soul to be spirit on Earth.

She is now working on her first book of philosophy and esoteric thought, and social, cultural and spiritual commentary. She is also showing her first photography collections. In the meantime, please enjoy this website. I have included many of the subjects I am covering, areas of experience and insight that I will be exploring to the fullest in my book, the courses and all the other work that is to come as a dramatist, novelist and essayist. I also of course, include many of the wise people on this planet, who have come long before me; authors, screen dramatists, playwrights, film makers, artists, and other enlighteners and grand carriers of the wisdom I have found the most helpful on my journey, to find peace and become enlightened. The seemingly impossible journey, in the face of oneself and one’s circumstances. People who have contributed massively to my healing on this mad journey called life, in this insane existence called The Universe. People who have helped to make me as good a carrier of wisdom as I in turn, can be. Thank you.

Amera Ziganii Rao’s Well Endowed Mind. Mikal Konali. Yush Magazine
Any day now an unknown writer will burst onto the scene, amidst a media frenzy proclaiming "overnight success". That person could very well be Amera Ziganii Rao. And the success would have been decades in the making...
Amera Ziganii Rao is no longer a journalist and has not been for 14 years. She had a melt down and walked away to find a new path in life.
Her world was formerly the media and she covered news in print, TV and radio, for The Voice newspaper during the 1980s, the BBC in the 1990s, and then on cable TV before the digital revolution exploded, consigning the rest to history.
She re-imagined herself as an esoteric master, teacher, healer, alchemist, mystic, self-taught writer, dramatist and photographer.
Or, as she puts it, she developed a “suitably mythological level of existence and one that has been deeply visceral and painful, physically and emotionally.”
Freedom, sedition and self-responsibility are among the themes that like her. However, it is her writing which sets her apart.
Amera simply had to explore the agony of “true love” and leave behind “the bourgeois and conformity tribe mentality we are all imprisoned by.” Essentially hers is a journey of discovery, of freeing the mind into the heart and soul. A profound journey in a shallow world, which she feels, is “worth every step of it.” Although, we imagine, it is not a journey for the squeamish or faint hearted.
She is also an attractive, well-endowed woman – points not lost on visitors to her blog. “You have a busy brain and an impressive cleavage,” remarked Vivien Loh, British TV Drama Creative. “Very interesting and fascinating,” an American professor chimed in. “Love how your mind works.”
With credentials and accolades like these, we simply had to stop her and ask the inevitable 20 Questions…
