Hierophant Knowledge :: When Men Believe in Love. Amera Ziganii Rao
Thank you to Susan Edwards for this excerpt. I feel it is important to say with all these excerpts that while they are written about either men or women, they are applicable to both genders in my view. I remember reading this first excerpt at the beginning of my journey to heal myself of my past and related completely to everything. It is a mistake to only look at people as men or women. We come in different archetypes and obviously, from many different experiences.
These excerpts that I include on this blog are more for the broken people and while they may sound extreme, to those of us who have had extreme backgrounds, they are not extreme at all. Literally or symbolically, if someone is brought up with non love, a lack of emotional intelligence or violence, verbal or physical, psychological or with fists, the damage will last until self healing, therapy, a new education and hopefully, a great deal of spiritual re-programming and educating oneself all over again. Self love is love. If we are either male or female and have not had that love, we have to find out how to love ourselves and fortunately there are many people who can help. Of course, the problem is that to enter oneself and heal from a lifetime of unconscious self hatred is the most painful thing in the world to do.
And on top of that, as I write about on the rest of this blog, we are all brought up in a false world of what I call the Patriarchal Womb Stealing Tribe Society. Where women have been reduced to wombs instead of the women that both men and women truly love and want and miss. So there are two levels of healing required for happiness. First, depending on what one's background has been and secondly getting out of the Tribe society, mentally, emotionally and psychologically. What is more commonly known as The Matrix:)
This also means that despite my accurate assessment, I feel that healing and non love are generic and not gender specific, a man has many battles to fight and many levels to heal, as he is brought up in a world of misogyny, just by the very nature of the world's sociological make up. Healing is about healing one's heart. And takes many stages of growing back into love. And the more one has to heal, the more that should be praised and commended as the process is so vastly painful and difficult to do. But as we will see here, the women of the Tribe society are so wounded too, and as mothers, this unhealed level of wounding therefore poisons the next generation of males twice over. I will stop babbling though and leave it to Susan Edwards.

When Men Believe in Love. Susan Edwards
“That I can love”, he said, “is the greatest victory of my life.”
David paused and added thoughtfully,
“That I believe in love is something beyond victory.
I wanted to die when I was five. My mother leaned me against the back of our house and whipped my buttocks with a stick until I urinated against the wall. She screamed shaming insults at me while quoting the Bible, and she mocked me. I was her prisoner for years. My father wasn’t home much, but my grandparents loved me. I was a lonely little boy.”
Psychological aloneness haunted David like a restless wind in the attic. He was grown up by the time we met, and we have been friends for twenty years. That he is kind is a victory. That he is loving is amazing. I still don’t understand exactly how he did it, but as a psychologist I have some ideas. There is something about human victory basic to empowerment, and something about personal empowerment fundamental to psychology and to the ability to love.
THE SCIENCE OF VICTORY
In order to explain David’s psychological victory, we need to develop a paradigm – a model that provides a sort of idea window through which to look. Paradigms weave together ideas, theory and research on human behaviour to help us grow in understanding.
Paradigms have always existed in the history of science. And, like the clothes we wore in high school, we often outgrow them. Years ago, before antibiotics were understood, physicians in the American Civil War treated open wounds on soldiers with a certain kind of moss.
These soldiers recovered better than those who had no moss. The model (or paradigm) was that moss helped heal the wounds. That agent is known today as an antibiotic. Consequently, the paradigm changed. Healing that was credited to moss was replaced with a new explanation: antibiotics.
One of the most widely read writers in the history of science, Thomas Kuhn, author of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, writes that science advances by continuing to outgrow its paradigms. What we think is true at one time allows us to discover something else that is true at a later time. As a result, we often reject what we once accepted as true. This is how we grow in knowledge and understanding.
Understanding people is very difficult because there are so many things that affect them. So our models are often imperfect in predicting how people will act or in explaining why they do the things they do. As we continue to learn, we develop models we will someday outgrow. And we are helped by the life stories of people like David.
From a field called risk research, the study of resilience offers one such paradigm. In Chapter 4 I have utilized it to explain how David achieved the ability to love when his history was so abusive. It is one of the paradigms in psychology that explains empowerment and psychological victory over profound adversity. I have applied it to men who love. Their victory can be understood and similarly achieved by others.
LOVE AND NATURE
From the time Shane first peered out into the big world, he had a sparkle in his eye. And it became brighter. Some men are just born loving. His father said,
“Shane was born with a loving temperament, and it hasn’t changed. From the time he was an infant, he watched your every move and snuggled in when you held him. He smiled after he was two months old and adapted well to new situations. Now he’s nearly two and he smiles a lot. His face lights up when he sees you and he claps when something happens that he likes. He laughs a lot, giggles and says, “Mama” and “Dada”. He is fascinated by animals of all kinds. He gets excited and wants to touch them or play with them, but he isn’t hurtful. He has a kind of happy respect for animals – he knows they’re alive – and he loves imitating the sounds they make. Mostly, I guess, he’s a kid who just shows joy.”
People are born with different temperaments and different natural abilities. Some people are naturally athletic, a talent that is evident from the time that they are young. Others may be naturally musical, artistic or mathematical. Often when someone has a strong natural ability, it is accompanied by a belief in how important it is.
Over the years, I have observed that some people have a natural ability to love. As they travel through life, their belief in love continues. Some of the people are men – men like Shane – born loving, who include in their identities, at the inner core, being loving. While they may live in all cultures, be represented by all socioeconomic levels, and interact with the world in a variety of occupations, the important thing is that they exist.
From a research perspective, such men would be classified as ‘true positives’. That is, the way they appear to be on the outside (loving) is the way they are on the inside (loving). They choose to live their lives that way. While they are not perfect, there is something qualitatively different about them in terms of human relationships. The difference shows up most in the influence they have on others. In the garden of human relationships, such individuals are the water and the rain. The effect they have on others is nurturing.
For years social scientists have attempted to explain why people are the way they are. A controversy emerged over nature versus nurture in determining human personality and behaviour, which resulted in three different theoretical positions. The first one focuses on nature and suggests that people are born with a temperament based on the influence of genetics. The second one emphasizes environment: people develop as a result of what they learn from their relationships with their parents, family, culture and so on. The third position involves a combination of both nature and nurture.
Explaining human behaviour is very difficult, partly because research on humans is so complex. In social science, unlike physical science, we are limited in how we can explain the wide variation in human behaviour.
In physical science, add two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen and – given a certain temperature range – a molecule of water is created every time. Not so in trying to understand or predict human behaviour. It is the scientific equivalent of ending up with water, zinc and a daffodil one time, and black sludge the next. The results are unpredictable.
How does all of this relate to men and love? This chapter presents several windows through which to view men who believe in love. Loving men seem to be created by nature, by nurture, and by a combination of both. Some were born loving and never changed. Some unearthed their own loving nature and belief in love in response to an event in their lives; and some are still in the process of discovery.
LOVE AND IDENTITY
SOME MEN DEFINE THEMSELVES AS LOVING. It is part of how they see themselves, and a belief in love is as basic as their understanding of the importance of breathing. They are men who, upon entering the room, bring in the sun.
My Uncle Walter was like that. He had twinkling eyes, joked and laughed with people, and was insightful about human nature. Although he’d attended college, he worked in a steel plant most of his life in a town called Steelton, Pennsylvania. He was a carpenter in his spare time and liked to fix houses.
He died after I graduated from college but what I remember most about him was the way things seemed lighter when he was around. If it was cloudy outside, his presence seemed to brighten the room. He talked with everyone, genuinely seemed to enjoy other people, smiled a lot, and had a little kid kind of laugh that started in his belly and echoed its way into his lungs. He was kind, mirthful yet serious, but loving.
He loved my aunt and told me once he still pictured her the way he did when they dated in high school – as the leading lady in the school play. When we were kids, he always made us laugh, but it was never at our expense. Instead of ridiculing people, he just created fun. From the moment you walked in the room, he had a way of making you feel special. He made a difference in my life, Uncle Walter did, just by being in it.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IS PART OF WHAT BELIEF IN LOVE IS ABOUT FOR MEN
Jens Mortensen feels the same way. A native of Denmark, he lives in a suburb of Copenhagen today. He is a veterinarian and his father was a veterinary surgeon. Jens grew up in a family that was loving and that encouraged children to be individuals who help others. He shared his story as follows.
“Every family has crises. They pop up from time to time. Even though you have serious family disagreements – even though you’ve been shouting from one end of the house to another – the next day it might not be forgotten, but you know that underneath there is still love. Sometimes you can solve problems. Sometimes they can’t be solved, but you figure out ways to live with the difficulties, even though you might think the person is wrong in some ways. You don’t let problems undermine your sense of the good in relationships.
I think men have the right to be strong and they also have the right to be weak and soft – it’s not a source of shame. It’s not considered bad if a boy cries. Men tend to have an attitude to show that they always have everything under control, but this is obviously not the case. And it is not such a big shame nowadays if you happen to show your feelings or weak spots.
This view is shared by a lot of men here. Men share a lot in childcare too, because most women work in Denmark. When both parents are involved with small children, it allows them to be more sentimental.
In my family, it was more of an egalitarian culture. Women were viewed as equal to men. School was easy for me, and I am a mainstream Dane. My wife Alicja is a veterinarian also. She is from Poland, and we met in a student exchange programme. For my part, it was love at first sight. I’m not sure it was for her. We are both fond of each other and, while we won’t know the end for many years, until now we are very happy.
My philosophy of life? Oh, I don’t know. I have always felt it was important for a person to make a positive mark on his surroundings – whether by doing something that is useful or by being helpful or comforting to other people around you. I think I had this idea from the time I was a small child.”
You will notice that Jens’ views include an acceptance of strength as well as vulnerability. Both are integrated into his identity. So is what he views as the purpose for his life.
“I think it is important to make a positive mark on your surroundings. What is important to me in life is that I feel that whatever I do is useful to the company I work in and the society I am living in. In whatever a person can contribute – a story, a painting, a songwriter who writes a song – in small matters and in large matters – what you do matters somehow and does make a difference. “
It is possible, then, to combine love, work and identity. Such men do. And they exist in every field, although you might be surprised at the wide range of individuals involved.
Dr. Jack Mendleson, a friend of mine who is a management professor, shared with me a quotation from a speech given by Vince Lombardi, the famous coach of the Green Bay Packers football team. The quotation, given in an address to the American Management Association, included a similar idea.
Mental toughness is humility, simplicity, Spartanism.
And, one other, love.
I don’t necessarily have to like my associates, but as a person I must love them.
Love is loyalty. Love is teamwork. Love respects the dignity of the individual.
Heartpower is the strength of your corporation.
Vince Lombardi was a legend in American sports. He was an inspirational leader, a larger-than-life presence, someone who brought love to the world of sports and business – and he made a difference.

This is our world and it is time to take it back and I can show you how. And that makes my life, truly, worth living. I want you to feel the way I do. Alive, with the right to be and the belligerence to exist in this profane and male ‘God’ led world of male supremacy, female supremacy, domestic, casual fascism, tribe rules from hell, with beautiful and kind, love intelligence laden, female and male Cinderella warriors at the bottom, caring for everyone else and getting nothing but hatred, ridicule and isolation for it. I am THE High Priestess Monarch of the ancient past and I forgive you for becoming enslaved and taken over by the machines of the alien reptile force that invaded and took over Earth 8000 years ago. They taught you to hate me and my kind and you believed them. They told you I and my kind were dictators and that you were slaves, when all we had done was love you, honour you as companions and above all, we had let you just live. We were the holy communers, the ones who gave birth to human beings, the leaders of society, the creators of society, the vehicles of Divinity on Earth and the channels of wisdom. The ones who looked after everything and the ones who built everything and ran everything, because we could. And because we loved it. We are and were the force of creation. And you loved us and you lived. But they told you that you ‘deserved’ power too and that we were the ones standing in your way. And you believed them. The oldest ‘divide and rule’ strategy of hate in history and it worked. They used it and you bought it, hook, line and sinker. You had to give up sex, love, magic and your own spiritual gifts and you burnt, destroyed and violated me for 8000 years. The world calls that male supremacy. And indeed, family supremacy, Matriarchal supremacy and supremacy of the material world and all who believe in it. Men and women like you. When all that you are are slaves to a reptile force to generate hate energy for them to live and thrive and vampire the human race. The puppets of a hate force, that chose to destroy women and men like me, for hate to grow, so they could live. You bought it and it worked. The greatest fraud in the history of the world. The humanity, the glory of sexuality and the glory of creation and creativity and the glory of Divinity in each and every one of us. Our souls. They taught you that human beings are separate from Divinity, that sex was wrong and that women who have minds of their own are uppity slaves. They vilified us but much much worse than that, they destroyed your relationship with all that is unseen, all that we honour and love. They taught you to hate what is really God. By teaching you to hate us, you hated all that is good in yourselves. They taught you to hate the light. They taught you to kill us. The daughters of The Universe. The High Priestesses of God. The Spiritual Mothers. The Sacred Whore High Priestess Avatars of The Universe. The Sacred Army of Love on Earth. The Shamans, the Mystics and the Communers. They called me Eve and blamed me for the downfall of the human race and created the awesome profanity that is religion. Of men, by men and from men. Of reptiles, by reptiles and from reptiles. Christianity, Islam and Judaism and every other philosophy around the world was poisoned. There are no female spiritual leaders left. It is all profanity. They chose you to represent them because they wanted to divide us and they did. They told you to hate me. And you believed them. Now I am back and I forgive you. I forgive you because I can. Because I came here to save your soul. And because I finally know who I am. I am THE High Priestess Monarch of the ancient past. I came here to return your soul to The Source. God, The Mother, The Universe. To return you to what is really God. Because I love you. And because She loves you and your kind, whatever you have done. Whatever you have done to me and whatever you have done to Her. And most of all, whatever you have done to yourself. We forgive you. This is your redemption. Your freedom and your ascension. We are here to save your soul.

You bought the Sacred Whore like a piece of meat and you called that a wife. Your trophy wives. Your dancing girls. Your chattel and serving girls. Your piece of beauty. You bought us like you would cattle. Then you called it wives. Now you call it prostitution. The High Priestesses of the real God. You bought us to buy God, The Mother, The Universe and you caged us, separated us from our Divine gifts and skills in the Temple and drove us mad and then lost interest in us, because we had no gifts left, no excitement, no hunter in ourselves and no hope or joy left. Then you just called us mad and discarded us. You called us evil and you call love obedience, even though it had already killed us. You moved into our Temples and you played with the divination tools and thought you communed. The destruction of Atlantis was your gift. You stole us from God, The Mother, The Universe and you tried to usurp us. You vilified us, enslaved us and you still envy us today. You call it intuition. You might want to think about this when you hate us out of your jealousy. The mystic gene means physical tortuous pain and taking on the empathy of the human race. All their pains, evils and dark thoughts. We see and feel everything. We make crucial sacrifices to be near Spirit and the unseen and we go without for years. To be shaman is not glamour. I make it glamour. To be shaman is a specific Samurai existence, ascetic and harsh. We commune to be guides. And you take that and you shame yourselves because you just want the meat. You didn’t just want the meat. You wanted our beauty of spirit, our personalities and our love and kindness. And you destroyed them, because you caged us and called us wife.

The High Priestess Sacred Whores, the High Priests and the true protectors. Those who do not have the gift like either the High Priests or especially like the highest of all, the High Priestess Sacred Whores but who honour, protect and facilitate them to the world. Who honour the Shaman Sacred Whores of this world most of all, and who know who they are and who they are not. Who know the difference, who do not envy and who protect and love the representatives of Spirit, GOD, THE MOTHER, THE UNIVERSE, on Earth. Who honour their wisdom and who honour the latent Shaman in themselves too and who honour the communing ability of the High Priestess Sacred Whores. The non violators. Our only friends. The New Society exists. It is called Enlightenment. It is called Love. It is The Holy Grail.

I enter the magical hours of pure feeling, pure thought, pure imagination and I think and I write and I 'mysticise' the Universe. Amera Ziganii Rao is a former hard news journalist who is now turning professional with her art forms and indeed, her healing forms, after a long journey of inner searching, self teaching and exploring many layers and areas of both craft and wisdom. She is now working on her first book of philosophy and esoteric thought, and social, cultural and spiritual commentary. She is also showing her first photography collections. And last but most definitely not least, she is building a business to share her Sacred Whore High Priestess Society consciousness and empowering explorations to reach as many people as possible across the world. She is in her forties and lives in London.

In the meantime, please enjoy this website. I have included many of the subjects I am covering, areas of experience and insight that I will be exploring to the fullest in my book, the courses and all the other work that is to come as a dramatist, novelist and essayist. I also of course, include many of the wise people on this planet, who have come long before me; authors, screen dramatists, playwrights, film makers, artists, and other enlighteners and grand carriers of the wisdom I have found the most helpful on my journey, to find peace and become enlightened. The seemingly impossible journey, in the face of oneself and one’s circumstances. People who have contributed massively to my healing on this mad journey called life, in this insane existence called The Universe.
